Ahh, spring is here. I must say I have been quite rejuvinated with the turn of the season. Well, crafting wise, not so much housework wise though (my spring cleaning list is starting to give me nasty looks as I try to shove it under a pile of books). Here in Northern California we are starting to get a little preview of the warm weather to come and the kids have been enjoying it between the boughts of cold every few days.
With the joy of spring comes the dreaded spring break. You would think it was a happy time but not so in this house. I remember as a child eagerly anticipating the break from early waking and the constant drone of school. I had every day off marked clearly on the calendar, highlighted and decorated with stickers and glitter. The first day of vacation was pure bliss. My son on the other hand does not look on holiday in the same manner. He loves school and misses it terribly, even the weekends are too long for him. Being stuck at home for two weeks is like a lifetime prison sentence for him. It really is our fault for sending him to the most fun school ever though. I mean if I had attended his school as a child I would probably be dissapointed when I couldn't go too. I mean a full day of art, games, music, crafts, playing, gardening and main lesson that involves most of those elements for enhanced learning kinda ruins having to entertain yourself at home. I mean I can't really blame him.
Keelin has been loving having her brother home to play with. Mommy and Daddy are not nearly as fun as Draken. It is so nice watching them play outside together, well at least until the yelling and crying start to happen. Draken handles it pretty well though. I mean it is rare for a seven year old to want to play with his almost 2 year old sister, especially when she activly destroys most of his projects. With the coming of Spring though things have changed a little. When you factor in plastic eggs and baskets suddenly two quarrelling children become the mosty cosy of outside companions, searching for eggs (they hid themselves), flowers, rabbits, gnomes and faries.
Spring is here!
