So, I am done knitting sweaters, or garments for that matter, for myself anymore. You would think I would have learned two sweaters ago that I just do not know what to knit for my body shape. I mean hundreds of dollars spent and I have nothing to show for it but a pile of clothes that do not fit. I do not have a gauge issue (everyone suggests that first) it is more of a top half issue. I knit for my bust size but when I try the garment on it is soooooo large for the rest of me that I look like I am swimming in it. My solution: Knit Socks!!!
Socks always fit (well usually) and they are a pretty good time investment. Not too much and not too little. Socks are always my go to project when frsutrated with another WIP so since I am frustrated with garments I am now on a sock bender. Now don't get me wrong, I will still knit sweaters, they just won't be for me. The kids always need warm woolen love so I will bestow it upon them.
Kevin's socks (the first pair I have finished for him) are made out of lovely Panda Silk. This yarn is so scrumptious that I must locate some more of it for a pair of socks for myself. After finishing these I immedialty cast on socks for myself out of some Panda Wool I got in San Francisco last time I was visiting. Decided on toe up cause the yardage is pretty skimpy when you take into account my size 11 foot.
We will see how long I can ride the happy sock train before I get bored, luckily I have enough sock yarn stashed to last me for a very long ride.
